Swallowhead Springs & Silbury Hill
Swallowhead Springs is a sacred well, and has been a sacred site for thousands of years. It is fairly close to Silbury Hill and I noticed that from the Springs, the hill appears to be perfectly symmetrical.
I walked through a flooded water meadow to get to the Springs, and knew I had found it because the willow trees there were decorated with ribbons. There were stepping stones but I was not about to attempt to cross. Perhaps in the summer I will go back and do this.
The water starts out as a trickle
And becomes quite a substantial flow, which passes under a bridge where one can walk to West Kennet Barrow
